Train to Teach
Could you inspire the next generation?
Train to teach with Learning Unlimited Teaching School Alliance in partnership with the Sheffield SCITT. This is a 100% school based one year training route, working alongside outstanding primary teachers, who mentor you. School Direct trainees enjoy the ability to meet others on the course and network during group training sessions at the excellent facilities of the Teaching School Hub.
The Mathematics Mastery vision is for every child to enjoy and succeed in mathematics – and this ethos is championed wholeheartedly by St Thomas of Canterbury. We have worked closely with them to pilot the regional expansion of our programme and this model is now being rolled out across the country. The dedicated team at St Thomas of Canterbury share our high expectations for every child and are committed to embracing the challenge of driving a lasting change in mathematics education.Dr Helen Drury, Executive Director of Mathematics MasteryHelen Drury Mathematics Mastery

Become a Partner School
Becoming a Partner School is of great benefit to schools because our approach to delivering School Direct training is based on what the Head teachers tell us they are looking for in their Newly Qualified Teachers. They prefer trainees who have experienced a whole year in school, throughout the cycle of the school year, and who have been involved in every aspect of the role of a teacher. They find that teachers trained by outstanding practitioners are better prepared for the rigors of the profession. This is often their preferred route for recruiting NQTs .
